Instructional Design
What is instructional design?
Instructional design is the process of planning, designing and developing instruction effectively so as to enhance the quality of learning. It is the entire process of analysing learner needs and goals and developing the right strategy and program to meet those needs.
We design and develop:
- self-paced training material
- facilitator-led training material such as facilitator notes/session plans, participant workbooks
- reference material such as handouts and presentations
- storyboards for online training
We focus on:
- what needs to be learned, ensuring that clear and measuarable learning objectives form the foundation of the training
- the learner - their requirements, their skill set and experience, as well as general characteristics and what motivates them to learn
- the best way of presenting the content to achieve the objectives and meet the requirements of the learner
- the most effective strategy to adopt
- providing feedback to the learner throughout the course and ensuring assessment is an integral part of the whole process
